Pediatric Dentistry (Pedodontics) is the field of dentistry that deals with the oral and dental health of children between the ages of 0-16. Tooth Decay Preventive Procedures

• Treatment and restoration of decayed milk teeth and permanent teeth,
• Extraction of teeth that cannot be treated,
• Preventing the negativities that may occur with the formation of early tooth loss with some appliances, ensuring the formation of the tooth sequence properly,
• Diagnosis, treatment and long-term follow-up of traumatic dental and supporting tissue injuries,
• Following tooth eruption and dentition and preventing deviations from normal,

There are also applications such as diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of gum diseases seen in childhood and young individuals.

Pediatric Dentistry Recommendations

Pediatric Dentistry covers 3 different periods.

• 0-6 years: Deciduous Period:

Milk teeth are important to maintain their place until permanent teeth erupt. While the teeth continue their formation in the jaw, they last at certain ages according to their root development. During this period, a total of 20 milk teeth (10 in the lower and 10 in the upper jaw) are placed symmetrically.

• 6-12 Age Period:

It is the age range in which both milk molars and incisors are seen in the mouth at the same time.

• After 12 Years of Age:

This is the period when milk teeth are completely shed, permanent teeth take their place in the mouth and the balance between teeth is formed
